Monarchs captain Paco Castagna did himself and his country proud when he finished in tenth place in a very strong Grand Prix Challenge meeting in Terenzano today. He finished further up the finishing order than current Grand Prix rider Domink Kubera and also highly rated riders such as Kai Huckenbeck and Jaimon Lidsey.
He was actually level on points with Maciej Janowski and Chris Harris but they both won heats, which means they are given a higher position.
Winner of the meeting Robert Lambert will surely qualify for next year's GP by his 2026 finishing position, and it's also possible that Woryna and Lebedevs will do the same. So there may be others from this meeting who join Lambert, Rohan Tungate and Kim Nilsson in the 2027 series.
Paco's rider replacement rides at Workington scored an acceptable 7 points. So it's back to the day job next Friday at Glasgow.
