Edinburgh Monarchs Academy take centre stage again at Armadale Stadium this Friday with a National Development League double header against Leicester Lion Cubs and Buxton Bulls as their title charge continues.

The Academy maintained their perfect league record last Friday with a 51-39 victory over Oxford Chargers, making it six wins from six in this year's NDL.

Oxford provided a stern test and reduced the Academy's advantage to just two points during the meeting, before the home side asserted themselves with successive 5-1s and pulled clear over the closing stages.

Jordy Loftus showed himself to be fully recovered from his recent concussion absence with a paid 12, enjoying several good battles with Oxford number one Jody Scott.

Monarch of the Match Vinnie Foord was also in excellent form, with Dayle Wood, Ben Whalley and Jamie Halder amongst those contributing to another strong all-round team performance.

Now attention turns to two matches in one night this Friday, as Leicester Lion Cubs and Buxton Bulls both make the trip to Armadale.

The Academy have put themselves in an excellent position with their unbeaten start to the campaign, but there is still important racing ahead as the battle for the NDL title continues.

With the senior Monarchs preparing for their Championship play offs, this Friday belongs to the Academy and brings another opportunity for Monarchs supporters to get behind the team at Armadale.
