Edinburgh Monarchs
Josh Pickering at Sheffield tonight very deservedly regained the Championship individual which he previously won in our colours in 2024. He won all his heats and in the final led home Chris Harris, Zach Cook and Sam Masters in that order.
Our trio totalled 14 between them, which was Kye 7, Dan 7 and Sedgy 0. Kye encouragingly won heat one off gate 4, and was always prepared to take the wide route which is usually the right way to succeed at Owlerton.
Dan also had a heat win, off the inside in heat eleven. Sedgy led his opening heat most of the way, and was in scoring positions in other heats, but was always vulnerable to more forceful riders coming through.
Monarchs had a good travelling support present, and in the absence of one of our boys winning they were happy to see Sam and Josh make the final as top two scorers. By choosing gates 3 and 2 respectively they almost opened the door for defending champion Chris Harris who gleefully took the outside and almost took the lead, but Pickering was again unstoppable.
Congratulations to Josh who celebrated with donuts.
