The 2026 British Youth Championship series raced to a conclusion at Glasgow on Sunday - read on for full details as well as details regarding Saturday's abandonment.

Following Saturday's unfortunate abandonment of the British Youth Championship round at Armadale, an update can now be provided for supporters who purchased tickets for the event.

The meeting was brought to an early conclusion after just two heats following the accident involving Oscar Berwick, who required hospital treatment.

With the track ambulance required to take Oscar to hospital, and a significant wait expected before it could return to Armadale, there was no option but to abandon the remainder of the meeting.

The club was hopeful of restaging the event later in the season but British Speedway Youth Coordinator, Neil Vatcher, was keen to conclude the season at Glasgow on Sunday.

Efforts have been made with the British Speedway Youth Coordinator Neil Vatcher to arrange a restaging date but this has not proven possible due to the series concluding on Sunday at Glasgow.

Naturally, with only two heats of racing completed, all those who purchased admission to Saturday's event are entitled to a refund. Supporters who wish to request a refund are asked to make contact with the club via the contact form here to confirm their admission details, specifically supporters should detail the amount paid, the tickets purchased and whether it was cash or card.

Those who purchased the live stream have been refunded, please allow up to seven days for this to reach your account.

The club is proud to provide a platform for youth racing and is extremely grateful to those who have already intimated that they will not request a refund in order to assist with the costs of staging Saturday's event, including the medical cover which did such a fantastic job.

Best wishes to Oscar Berwick

Everyone at the club continue to send their very best wishes to Oscar Berwick for a speedy recovery after Saturday's crash.

Oscar is one of the most impressive young riders in the 125cc category and all look forward to seeing him back on his bike as soon as possible.

Oscar suffered a broken right femur which has been successfully plated in order to assist his recovery and he is in good spirits.

2026 BYC Series Completed

With Sunday's final round of the 2026 series completed, the final placings for the year are now known.

On the day in the final round there was success for some of our local riders. Lewis Hague took third place in the 125cc category with little brother Callum Hague winning the 125cc Support category.

This meant that Lewis picked up the bronze medal in the overall 2026 standings. Congratulations to Lewis.

Other Monarchs Speedway Academy riders Liam Morris finished 6th overall and Rocco Webb 7th overall in the 500cc category, with Callum Hague finishing 4th overall in the 125cc Support class having not completed many rounds this year.
