Glasgow Tigers hold the trophy, Edinburgh Monarchs lead in the series stretching back to 1951, and on Friday we will see which side adds the 2026 Scottish Cup to their record.

Monarchs lead in this year's trophy hunt having won at Glasgow by 48-42 back on 11th July.

Neither team fields their full 1-7 on Friday. Dan Thompson is not expected to return from his recent dislocated shoulder and his replacement will be Workington's in-form Aussie Tate Zischke. They will also be without captain Paco Castagna who is en route to the European Pairs in Poland, and his replacement is still to be confirmed.

In Glasgow's side, Nick Morris comes in for Kyle Howarth who stood down from the sport earlier in the summer, and Morris's form is outstanding at the moment. He will be heading for Plymouth the day after the Armadale clash as Berwick race there in the Knockout Cup Final second leg.

Both Tigers' reserves are missing and they will field Vinnie Foord and Ashton Vale in these positions.

Team manager Alex Harkess appreciates that his team need to pull out something special. "We start in front, and normally would be confident with the home leg coming up, though the absentees maybe work against us. I still feel we can win as I know the riders are determined to finish the season on a high, and send the supporters home happy."

Friday's matches will be Live Streamed for those who cannot attend, details on www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk.
