The second match against Buxton was not quite such a dominant home display though it still finished up a very big victory.
Ben Morley rode more like his true self, starting with a race win, and there were some fallers on the home side (Foord twice and Wood once). The Academy had only a six-point lead after 7 races though they pulled away thereafter.
The only unbeaten rider in the second match was the guest Vale, once again superb, but once more the whole team was excellent, including Anika Loftus whose steadiness wins her points.
It is very hard to see any way that they won't finish up as winners of the National Development League, as they are 11 points clear at the top of the table with a points difference over 150 better than Leicester. Realistically Leicester would need to win the aggregate bonus point against the Academy, and from a position of 40 down that seems very unlikely. However team manager Wilson is unlikely to allow complacency to intrude with just the away matches at Oxford and Leicester to complete the programme.
