Our riders, mechanics and management face the gruelling task of travelling to Plymouth in the 21 hours or so following the home match with Poole. As we now know, they will travel without Oskar Polis and use rider replacement for the departed Polish rider.

Polish rider Oskar Polis has left the Stellar Monarchs after failing to complete last night's match against Poole, and Monarchs have been granted a 28 day facility to replace him (guest or rider replacement) whilst seeking a full time replacement.

The Stellar Monarchs finally lost their first home Championship match to the Champions Poole, after a match in which the Armadale side suffered some misfortune and threw some points away. It was a match in which they looked potential winners for much of the night, once again largely due to Victor Palovaara, though when they arrived at heat 15 two points behind with the Swede's rides all used up the writing was definitely on the wall.

The Stellar Monarchs open their Championship campaign this Friday at Armadale and the fixture list pits them against last year's title winners the Poole Pirates! Poole have indeed won the Championship in three of the last four seasons.

There's bad news indeed for one of the most popular of the Monarchs' Academy riders Kyran Lyden, who has multiple fractures following the match on Saturday against Belle Vue Colts.

An all-round solid team performance saw the Stellar Monarchs Academy make it two wins out of two in the National Development League following an action and incident packed meeting against the Belle Vue Colts.

It was close but no cigar once again for the Stellar Monarchs albeit with no last heat decider needed this time as the host Tigers ran out 50-40 victors, heat 14 and 15 heat maximums giving the scoreline its final gloss.

The Stellar Monarchs conclude their BSN Series group stage matches on Friday as we head west to Ashfield to take on the Tigers.

While the senior Monarchs head for Ashfield tonight, the Stellar Monarchs Academy await their second home meeting of the season at Armadale on Saturday night, against the famous Belle Vue Colts (7pm). Riding at number one for the Colts is the most talked-about young rider in British Speedway, William Cairns.
