The Staggs Bar Monarchs were left to rue a lack of heat winners as they fell 53-37 to Glasgow in the Championship Shield

Well after the disappointment of Friday nights rain off the Staggs Bar Monarchs head west to take on the Glasgow Tigers in another big Championship Shield match on Sunday afternoon.

After the disappointment of losing our match on Friday night, we were at least able to travel to Berwick to see how the best of young British talent is progressing in the British Under-21 Final. It was not a great surprise that the outstanding Robert Lambert won the title for the third time.

Tonight's match against Glasgow was called off early following heavy rain. We don't have a restaging date at the moment and obviously it's not an easy one with two Friday teams involved.

It's another crucial Championship Shield match-up for the Staggs Bar Monarchs this week with the added spice of a derby as we welcome the Glasgow Tigers to Armadale.

The Staggs Bar Monarchs face up to local rivals Glasgow – and Craig Cook – at Armadale this Friday. Both sides have had one win and one loss in the Championship Shield, and both are looking for as many points as possible over the weekend to put pressure on section leaders Berwick.

It's a big night at Armadale on Friday as it always is when the Monarchs and Tigers do battle, but it is also Monarchs Fans Trust night as our friends from the MFT set out to remind supporters what an important contribution they can make to the club.
